Airport Taxi St Albans To Heathrow

If you’re travelling from St Albans to catch your flight from Heathrow Airport, you’ve got a number of options.

Coach To Heathrow

You could take a coach from St Albans to Heathrow. First, you’ll need to get to the coach stop. That might mean that you have to take a local taxi to get there.

If the coach is calling at other towns first, then it could get stuck in traffic and be late. That means waiting at the coach stop. That’s not much fun, particularly if it’s raining.

And at Heathrow, it can be a long walk from the coach station to the check-in areas.

Train To Heathrow

Like the coach, you’ll have to travel to a pick-up location, namely the railway station. Then you have to travel to St Pancras International.

From there, you could take the Piccadilly Tube line all the way to Heathrow. Alternatively, you could take either the Circle or Hammersmith & City lines over to Paddington Station. There you can pick up the Heathrow Express train.

To get to the Tube from the National Rail platforms, you’ll have to walk the entire length of the St Pancras station concourse. It’s a long way, especially if you’ve got luggage.

But that’s only the start of the problems. If you take the Piccadilly Line to Heathrow, you’ll have to drag your luggage down a set of steps and then on to the escalators to get down on the platform. The Tube trains are often packed, so it can be difficult to get on a train with luggage.

It takes about an hour to get to Heathrow on the Piccadilly Line, not a pleasant prospect if the train is jammed with people.

If you take the Circle Line/Hammersmith & City line to Paddington, the tube trains could still be packed, but at least you won’t be on the train for as long.

The Heathrow Express service only takes 15 minutes to get from Paddington to Heathrow. But it’s a premium service, with premium fares to match.

That’s not the end of your problems. Once you get to Heathrow, it can often be a long walk from the train station to the check-in desks.

So is there a better alternative to the coach and the train?
